Haydn Wright B.Sc. Complimentary medecine, M.Sc. Osteopathy
Haydn is an RMIT graduate who has recently returned to Melbourne after practicing in Montreal, Canada for the past 9 years. He has extensive experience working within a multidisciplinary environment treating patients of all ages and presentations. Haydn has particular experience and skill in treating migraine conditions, jaw complaints, chronic degenerative disc injuries and running injuries as well as managing and preparing pregnant women for 3rd trimester and labour pains.
In session, Haydn uses an evidence-based biomechanical approach that he adapts to suit the needs and expectations of the patient. He places an emphasis on educating patients about their condition and timelines to recovery. The impact of lifestyle choices such as exercise, nutrition and posture are explored to empower the patient in their recovery.
Haydn also speaks French.
Dr Ben Van Der Westhuizen
As an osteopath at Lifestyle Essentials, Ben does more than just treat pain. Ben’s philosophy is to first tackle your symptoms, and then work with you to tailor specific plans to improve your strength, stability and function so that you can shake your injuries off for good. Ben has been an Osteo for over 10yrs, and continues to sharpen his skills by working at RMIT as a lectures in the Bachelor of Osteopathy Course teaching clinical skills.
Caroline Avila-Stanes
As a practitioner, Caroline looks to marry her academic knowledge with her hands on experience, integrating techniques to treat a wide range of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain related conditions. Specialising in TMJ dysfunction, cervicogenic headaches, pre/post natal, fibromyalgia, and frozen shoulder. Caroline’s passion is to empower her clients to understand the root cause of the pain and discomfort they are experiencing, not just treat the presenting symptoms.
Caroline’s treatments are personalised, medically-focused and tailored to the presenting condition and client. External referrals and collaborating with other allied health in a multimodal approach is welcomed. Caroline is passionate about Myotherapy as an integral modality in rehabilitation and holds the positions of Vice-Chair and Research Chair on the board of directors of the Myotherapy Association of Australia.
Caroline works Tuesday’s currently and will look at expanding her hours and days in future at Lifestyle Essentials.
